{"id":18270,"date":"2020-07-25T11:25:12","date_gmt":"2020-07-25T18:25:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kith.org\/words\/?p=18270"},"modified":"2020-07-25T11:25:12","modified_gmt":"2020-07-25T18:25:12","slug":"cancellation-culture","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kith.org\/words\/2020\/07\/25\/cancellation-culture\/","title":{"rendered":"cancellation culture"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p>In an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/2020-election\/trump-s-convention-cancellation-costing-gop-donors-millions-n1234896\">article about Trump canceling the in-person Republican National Convention<\/a>, the following line appears:<\/p>\r\n<blockquote>\r\n<p>\u201cThis is the cancel culture run wild,\u201d said one top Republican donor.<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n<p>\u2026I can\u2019t tell whether the donor intended that line as a joke, or whether they were just unclear on the meaning of the phrase <i>cancel culture<\/i>.
