(The article was published last week.)<\/p>\r\n<p>One commenter wrote:<\/p>\r\n<blockquote>\r\n<p>oi vey<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n<p>Another commenter replied:<\/p>\r\n<blockquote>\r\n<p>ditto<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n<p>And a third commenter added:<\/p>\r\n<blockquote>\r\n<p>oofta<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n<p>I have long thought that <i><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Oy_vey\">oy vey<\/a><\/i> (from Yiddish) and <i><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Uff_da\">uff da<\/a><\/i> (from Norwegian) were kind of equivalents, from two of my ancestral cultures.
