Interesting post from 2019 about people\u2019s names in Madagascar.<\/p>\r\n

It\u2019s written by a French person who had been living in Madagascar for ten years, so it\u2019s framed in terms of comparison to Western names: \u201cwhy Malagasy names are so long<\/a>.\u201d So there are some aspects that are presented as unusual that aren\u2019t at all unusual in some contexts; for example, it notes that Malagasy names were traditionally mononyms (though it says that that\u2019s less common now).<\/p>\r\n
