As far as I can tell, this is due to a popular search engine returning a link to this column when asked for riddles. Back in December, Calvin Lee asked me, incoherently: "can you cange the riggles???" I assume he thought that I intended to update this column with new "riggles" every so often, which indicates that he hadn't read anything else on this site. I was particularly amused a couple weeks later when he wrote to tell me, "im getting very bored of the olg riddles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I dropped him a note asking what he was talking about, and never heard from him again.

At any rate, it's pretty clear from the access stats that most people who find that column never even make it to this comments page. Alas. I certainly don't object to this column's popularity, but I'm a little disappointed by it; this is far from the best of the columns, so I would hope interested parties would look at a couple of more recent columns before giving up in disgust. Oh, well.

(Last updated: 17 March 1998)

Back to column r

[5

post-2577","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-1-lowercase-1
["GET
