Our Only President

Watched a bit of Our Only President on TV last night; read the transcript of his speech this morning. Awful, just awful.

I don't know if reading it will give you an idea of just how bad it was. Most of it was delivered in a monotone; visually, it was a fight between the smirk and the stern game face. I can't imagine how anyone could trust him.

I don't believe that he believes what he's saying, or that he thinks that he should only say what he believes. I don't believe that he checks to see whether what he is saying is true or not. I don't trust that he has people around him who will challenge him or put his (much less the nation's) needs over their own. I don't trust that he questions the motives of the people around him, once he's decided to trust them.

I don't trust him to think long-term; I don't trust him to question his own assumptions; I don't trust him to understand that his perception of the universe is incomplete. I don't trust that his perception of the universe remotely looks like mine (not that mine is complete; it ain't, but it has its own partial validity).

Thank you,
-Vardibidian.
