For more and better ranting

Your Humble Blogger has just came across the Daily Howler, a particularly vicious and vituperative site about the iniquities of Our Only President, his cronies, and the "store-bought butt-boys" of the media, particularly the so-called punditocracy. Some of y'all will enjoy that a lot more than my attempts at even-handedness, and perhaps I will too.

It also brings up a point I am unclear about in my own mind (surprise); how seriously should a person take the Chris Matthewses and George Stephanopolouses of the world? On one level, I've always felt if you take them seriously, you'll never stop vomiting, and that's no way to live. On another, if you don't take them seriously, and millions of people do (2.5 million watched This Week with George Stephanapolous this past Sunday, according to Nielsen, while 4 million watched Meet the Press with Tim Russert), then you are out of touch.

By the way, for a comparison, probably around 2 million people watched X2 on Sunday, and around 6 million watched the total top ten movies. That estimate is a WAG, and shouldn't be relied on or quoted, but is probably more or less accurate, as is the Nielsen.

Thank you,
-Vardibidian.
