Sunday was Tisha B’Av, the day of Lamentations, commemorating the Destruction of the Temple and the expulsion from Jerusalem.
I didn’t write an essay for this Tohu Bohu about it. I didn’t attend any of the many protests organized to mark the day and shame this nation’s disgraceful mistreatment of refugees and strangers on our shores. I didn’t read Lamentations. I didn’t fast.
It might have been better had I done some or all of those things.
