There’s a fascinating article by Marcy Wheeler over at the Blogging of the President 2004 about the feuilleton. Ms. Wheeler is planning a series of articles on the feuilleton and the blognote, and I for one am interested to see where she’s going.
Warning: many of the links within the note don’t appear to work. That’s a problem, and I hope she fixes it soon.

I was baffled by the term when Hesse used it in Magister Ludi (at least I think that’s where I saw it)—I had never heard of it, but he talked about it as if they were common everyday things. I eventually concluded that they must have been something like lecture series; cool to see an actual explanation. Thanks!
…I do think she could have spent more time talking about how a feuilleton differs from a newspaper column in general. Is Jon Carroll a feuilletonist?
