They just ran their spring fund drive here on WBUR, and the two people they praised most (in my impression) were Daniel Schorr and Bob Edwards. That exactly fits my view of who makes NPR as valuable as it is, and Daniel Schorr is on only intermittently. They told us to give money in order to keep the programming we’ve come to depend on, like Morning Edition with Bob Edwards. Now I don’t know whether to be relieved I didn’t donate under a false impression, or guilty that I didn’t donate because now they aren’t keeping that part of the programming I’ve come to depend on (just like they warned).
