Your Humble Blogger has returned to the computer. Huzzah! and all.
Anyway, it’ll take me a while to catch up, as I was cut off from most US news for most of my absence. It would help a lot if some Gentle Reader were to sum up the events of the last twenty-five days in sonnet form, or in ten lines of blank verse ending in a rhymed couplet.
I’ll be back to (at least) daily posts by the end of the week. There’s still a lot of unpacking to do, and sadly YHB, my Best Reader, and the Perfect Non-Reader have all caught cold, so the computer is lower priority just now.
My goal for August and the autumn is to keep up with the campaign rhetoric, and look at it carefully. Also, more links to cool stuff. For instance, contests! Jon Carroll is hosting an ‘October Surprise’ contest, Jed points me to a potentially hilarious Fake Anthology Guidelines contest, and the revivified Ugly Wedding Dress of the Day doesn’t have a contest at all. Um, but it’s got ugly wedding dresses again, and that’s a good thing.

Well, it ain’t a sonnet, but thanks. The Cheney comment was before we left, though. Did you see Barney Frank’s column in the Phoenix?
