tag line

Dang, YHB needs a new tag line. There's been an empty space in the tag for four months, since I gave up hope that my old tag Redintegro Iraq had even any comic value anymore. But now the blank space is depressing me, drawing attention to the lack of that hope. I would like, on the whole, to follow the advice of Mr. Johnny Mercer, and Ac-Cent-U-Ate the Positive. Maybe I’m ready to do that, maybe not. Anyway, I’m getting tired of typing the ampersand and the nbsp and the semi-colon.

I toyed with using the UFW slogan Si Se Puede; I decided I am not ready for that kind of optimism (in general, I am an odd kind of optimist; I tend to think that everything will go wrong, but that it’ll be ok anyway). I could go back to the humble thank you, which would be sincere, but feels like too much of a retreat. Some of the Kos gang have amusing things, but nothing that has inspired me.

Any ideas?

I don’t have tag line per se (not being prone to useful catchphrases). But conceptually, I’m with you on “I tend to think that everything will go wrong, but that it’ll be ok anyway”. I recall a conversation with another environmental scienctist about trends line and consequences of population growth and basically surprising the person — 20 years older than me — and a physicist too — into thinking the new thought of “Yes, it could be bad, but it won’t be smoothly bad”.

A little chaos and probability tweaking the future…

G’luck in finding a tagline. Or finding the need for one to be moot.
