I had mentioned a couple of months ago (I had written a couple of moths ago but it was many more moths than that) that it had been at least a year and a half since I read Mirror Dance. So when I had to grab a book off the shelf to save from the packing box and keep to hand, that was an obvious choice. And then I read it. I had remembered the torture scene as taking up the last third of the book, but actually it’s only two chapters. It’s a less disturbing book than I remember, although that could be the result of (a) more times through making it familiar, and (b) knowing that Mark will become at least as sane as he is in A Civil Campaign. So that’s all right.
