What? What? What?

Your Humble Blogger really wanted to do a coherent and reasonable analysis of Our Only President’s press conference, but it just didn’t happen. Mostly because, in the event, all I could do was channel Mad Stephen Fry voice. You all are familiar with Mad Stephen Fry voice? Not the Jeeves/scrumptious/cultural/niceness one, but the Melchett/Conservative barking mad incredulous one. Try it at home:

I'm inclined to believe that we need to increase in the permanent size of both the United States Army and the United States Marines.

Inclined to believe? Inclined to believe? Inclined to believe? Are you mad, man? Inclined to believe? You’re the President of the United States! Inclined to believe. Bah! You’ve spent six damned years at that desk, and now you’re inclined to believe.

Two thousand and six was a difficult year for our troops and the Iraqi people.

Difficult? Difficult? Difficult? Are you utterly out of your trousers? Difficult? Not for the ones we killed in two thousand and five, it wasn’t difficult.

[in response to the question ‘are you still willing to follow a path that seems to be in opposition to the will of the American people?’] I am willing to follow a path that leads to victory.

Victory? Victory? Victory? Victory? Victory? Baaaaaah! Victory? Victory? Victory? Bah!

... and so on.

I’m afraid that I have long since taken to turning off the radio (or whatever) when I hear the dulcet tones of Our Only President.

Otherwise I end up shouting at the radio; it’s not good for my health.

    Bah.

I can’t quite pick up Mad Stephen Fry voice, but I feel that it might also work in Mad Jim Mora voice. “Playoffs?!”
