Book Report: Mr. Ape

Back when I read Babe: The Gallant Pig, I reported mostly on the adaptation for the excellent movie, but I didn’t make it clear that I quite liked the book as well. Which I did.

Now, I happened to come across Mr. Ape at the library when my Perfect Non-Reader was Not Done Playing with the Library Toys, and didn’t quite feel like starting any of the books I had taken out for myself, and thought Oh, it’s a book by Dick King-Smith, the Babe fellow. I’ll just dip into it. Probably won’t finish it, though. And, sure enough, when I was about two-thirds of the way through, it was Time to Go, and away we went. But I took the book home. And I finished it, and I enjoyed it. And my Best Reader enjoyed it, too. And we’re reading it to our Perfect Non-Reader, and she’s enjoying it. So there’s luck.
