Weasels, on the other hand, well, you can’t really trust them, and that’s the fact

In case Gentle Readers missed it, here’s the quote of the, well, of the quote, via FP’s Passport:

UK military spokesman Major Mike Shearer said: "We can categorically state that we have not released man-eating badgers into the area."
From a BBC story headlined, rather wonderfully, British blamed for Basra badgers.

Ooo, eck.

wikipedia says* badgers are in our “no reason, i’m just going to hurt you” club. us, them, polar bears. that would be a wicked, wicked rugby team.

You know, YHB is deeply disappointed that after three days, Michael is the only Gentle Reader willing to go on record as not having released man-eating badgers in the area. I am forced to draw the conclusion that many—nay, most—Gentle Readers have, in truth, released man-eating badgers. Some critics have said that my Gentle Readers are, in point of fact, man-eating badgers themselves, and although I don’t think it’s necessary to go that far, I must admit that the silence on this timely issue has been deafening.

There are those who might even say that Michael’s association with man eating badger releasers, er, man eating-badger releasers, no wait, that’s man-eating-badger releasers, with those who willfully, wantonly and wastefully release man-eating badgers in the area calls his so-called “denial” into question itself.

For the record: Your Humble Blogger has never eaten a badger.

    Thanks,
    -V.

there is an appealing quixotism to visiting iraq to insert homovorous mustelids.

“i don’t care who they eat. a common threat is just what these people need to quell the civil incivility!”

if there are more than 100,000 badgers killed each year as pests, they could be relocated. surely some of them must eat man.

ma’am, can you bag a badger to help stop the war? it takes less than five minutes. this is everything you need, including dead rabbit, trap, and return postage.

I was expecting closer to a full complement of denials, sort of like calling Senators to find out who’s put the anonymous hold on a bill. As it stands, my prompt denial could look suspicious.

Therefore, in the interest of preserving my reputation as one who in no way consorts with man-eating badgers, I hereby retract my previous denial and instead assert executive privilege. Can I do that if I sent the man-eating badgers to the area using my RNC FedEx account rather than my White House FedEx account?
