Your Humble Blogger recently finished going through Bleak House again. Boy howdy, I love that book.
So, here’s a question. If I were to record myself reading it and post the chapters, say, one chapter a week or so, would Gentle Readers be interested in listening to it? What about discussing it? Either the book itself or my interpretation of it? I’m not saying I’m willing to do it—certainly not starting this winter—but I think I read this book well, and I enjoy reading Dickens. Do y’all listen to Books on Pod? I don’t. But I understand it’s entertaining and fun.

Edited to add: the links from the linked note above being dead, here are links to Bleak House editions from Penguin and Random House, in case they are helpful.

I do sometimes listen to books, and would enjoy it of all things.
If you want to be really public spirited/ambitious, you might want to do this for Librivox, a cool organization that has many good free audiobooks. There’s a lady who does Jane Austen that I particularly like.
Looks like there already is a version of Bleak House, and another in progress, but so what? Yours will be better.
If you can make it work out so that each chapter is the length of my commute that would be particularly helpful, although that might involve following the traffic reports pretty closely.
I probably wouldn’t listen to it, but that doesn’t make the endeavor less worthy in any way. I don’t listen to a lot of things. If you set it to music, I might.

Matt
I might listen. I’ve never read Bleak House and it’s one of those “should read” things. But I don’t have an iPod.
ooh, 67 chapters, that’d take us through some really interesting times. so. unabridged BH audio books run about 30 CDs, so half hour a chapter? i wonder if you could get away with recording it live somewhere in front of a local audience. a regular thing.
i’d love to talk about it… especially having failed three times to get to the middle, as with most fiction lately… and having a reader who loves it and the place and time to talk it over… that would be amazing.
