Well, and I have mentioned that More All-of-a-Kind Family is a bit of a disappointment. I’ve slowed down on grabbing the rest of them. I’m still likely to read them over the course of the year, but it’ll take some actual remembering when I’m at the library, or possibly seeing them on the shelf.
However, just so this note isn’t entirely a waste of pixels, YHB can report the discovery that the Association of Jewish Libraries has an award named after Sydney Taylor (the author of the All-of-a-Kind Family books). The only recent award-winner I’ve read is The Travels of Benjamin of Tudela: Through Three Continents in the Twelfth Century, which was lovely. That’s good, though, because I’ve picked up some ideas of books to look at. The list is a bit heavy on the All About the Shoah front, but no more than I expected it to be.
