Your Humble Blogger is still way behind on Book Reports. Sad, but true. Amongst the recently read was Prince of Foxes, YHB’s favoritest historical novel, with romance and swordplay and strategy and art and saints and betrayal and mercenaries and a Borgia Pope.
I hadn’t known that Samuel Shellabarger had written fifteen novels (seven under pseudonyms). I have only read this one, and a bit of Captain from Castile (my mother had the two in an omnibus volume). I didn’t like Castile enough to keep reading it, particularly (went my reasoning) because I loved Prince of Foxes so much. Perhaps I should try it again, or try Lord Vanity (wonderful title) or one of the contemporary mysteries. ILL to the rescue?
