I support Ilhan Omar

As you may have heard, Ilhan Omar, representative from Minnesota, tweeted: an exchange with Secretary Blinken, along with the following sentences:

“We must have the same level of accountability and justice for all victims of crimes against humanity. We have seen unthinkable atrocities committed by the U.S., Hamas, Israel, Afghanistan, and the Taliban.“

The second of those sentences has been getting all the attention—and indeed it might be suboptimally phrased—which means that our government continues to escape focusing on the first sentence. And, indeed, on Secretary Blinken’s failure to address her point, which was: Since the US does not believe that the International Criminal Court should have jurisdiction over crimes against humanity without a request from the nation-state or the Security Council, and since there is no evidence at all that advanced democratic states such as Israel or even the United States are willing or able to prosecute such crimes domestically, so what avenues of justice are proposed for the victims of such crimes?

So yes, I support Representative Omar.
