Mutants, race, silliness

Kam pointed me to a very entertaining article from last year, "Speaking Truth to Superpowers," at Modern Humorist. It's all about why and how white mutants discriminate against mutants of color, particularly Storm. If you never read X-Men, though, it probably won't make any sense. . . Also, I should warn you upfront that the article stops abruptly in midsentence at the end of its second page; not sure whether there's more to it somewhere or whether they stopped writing it there.

And that page led me to their page of movie theme song parodies; I enjoyed the faux Tim Rice/Elton John/Disney approach to a Perfect Storm theme song as well as the filk of Jewel's "Hands" from Wolverine's point of view. The latter starts very weak but improves by the time the chorus rolls around:

My mutant chromosomes
And the
Strong metal in my bones
Help me
Fight Sentinel robot drones
And I heal very quickly.
