Those Brunching Shuttlecocks people are at it again, this time with an amusing and quite true geek hierarchy chart, showing which geeks consider themselves less geeky than which other geeks. Unfortunately it doesn't address the question of hierarchies among academic geeks and professional geeks; it's really only a chart of geek hierarchies among sf subcultures. But it's a good start.
