Lorem Ipsum

Very cute article about using image-recognition software to control a latch on a cat door, thereby preventing the cat (named Flo) from entering the house if it's carrying something (such as a dead bird) in its mouth). I thought it was another one of those geeks-with-too-much-time projects, but actually it's a company, Quantum Picture, that makes image-recognition software. Cool. Thanks for the pointer, Kam!

I'm amused that after I wrote the above paragraph, two of the next three songs that came up on iTunes were about cats. (And no, I don't have that high a percentage of cat songs, though between Cats and songs by people named Cat, it's probably a fair bit higher than most people would have.)
