Off!
I seem to have neglected to mention that I'm temporarily off work. Taking May off to catch up on all the things I've been failing to get done lately: housework, paying bills, seeing movies, reading, magazine stuff, various database-backed Web projects. Oh, yes, and seeing friends.
Today I walked downtown to pick up photos. (In the gift shop at Zion, two women walked past the film racks while I was picking some out; one said to the other, "Film! How quaint!") I thought several times: "Salt Lake City is really nice!" And then realized that what I really meant was: "Salt Lake City is really nice this time of year." I've heard about the weather at other times of year; the current weather seems to be pretty much ideal for me, but don't know that I'd want to be here in August or January. Anyway, lots of cool architecture (houses with round bay windows/towers at the corners, mostly), friendly people (I think Mary Anne's bothered by the number of people who smile and say hi in the streets, but so far I kinda like it, though I haven't been around it that much), nice weather. A nice walk.
