BMG 9/11 memorial
The Blue Man Group has put together an interesting and oddly touching memorial movie (kind of) called Exhibit 13, showing scraps of paper that blew into the Carroll Gardens neighborhood in Brooklyn, presumably on 9/11. Requires either Flash or QuickTime, and takes a while to download even on a very fast connection, but worth taking a look at.
Most of the papers are mass-produced in some way—pages from phone directories, calendar pages, etc. But there are fragmentary glimpses of the people who used the paper; even aside from the memorial aspect, this is kind of interesting as a look at some of the roles that printed matter plays in our lives, the ways we interact with paper.
Click the Watch link first; afterward, if you're interested, try the Read/Listen link to see close-ups of the individual papers.
(Thanks, Joe!)
