Brain
I somehow managed to work myself into a Mood this evening, and it's lingering a little even after I stopped Reading Submissions and went and Listened To Soothing Music for a bit, so I'm going to Give Up And Go To Bed.
But first, a bit from The House at Pooh Corner, which may explain after all why Beth and Arthur decided that Rabbit was the right Milne character for me:
"Rabbit's clever," said Pooh thoughtfully.
"Yes," said Piglet, "Rabbit's clever."
"And he has Brain."
"Yes," said Piglet, "Rabbit has Brain."
There was a long silence.
"I suppose," said Pooh, "that that's why he never understands anything."
Heh. But really what I wanted to post is a bit less pointed and a bit more soothing, and comes from a different Pooh story entirely, and it's this:
Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind.
"Pooh!" he whispered.
"Yes, Piglet?"
"Nothing," said Piglet, taking Pooh's paw. "I just wanted to be sure of you."
