Green dedication
"The Human-Powered Move": an interesting description (with photos and optional video clips) of a small group of people moving the contents of a friend's apartment, including furniture, to the friend's new residence 5km away, using only human-powered vehicles (bikes and trikes, with trailers). I'm particularly struck by the photos of the couch on the "roof rack" of a recumbent trike.
Note that the third through fifth loads are transported in the dark, with snow coming down.
I totally admire their dedication, even as I acknowledge that I personally am not that dedicated.
The parent "Human Powered Vehicle Operators of Ottawa" (HPVOoO) page has a photo of, among other things, a couple of HPVers with what looks like a long wooden canoe mounted over their vehicle. Unless it's some kind of canopy, but that seems unlikely.
