Wimpy Hamlet
More paper-sorting today, as I try to work up the energy/interest required to do various other more important things. Deciding what to dispose of from English classes is a lot harder than from math classes; the articles on Chaucer are (a) still comprehensible to me, and (b) still more or less interesting to me. But skimming through them is making clear that they're not really anything I need to keep.
But I probably will keep my handwritten notes. Among other things, there are some cute quotes from class, including this from a Chaucer class, said by a student whose name I didn't know during discussion of Troilus and Criseyde:
What if, when Hamlet was being wimpy, Ophelia just went off and slept with Rosencrantz and Guildenstern? Or had an incestuous relationship with Laertes? . . . I see Criseyde as how Ophelia would be if she had any guts.
I'm just tickled by the notion of Ophelia and R&G having a threesome, somehow.
