Surely, slumber is more sweet than toil

So said Tennyson, anyway. But I wouldn't know—trouble sleeping again. Sigh. This time I was thoroughly exhausted but slept only intermittently nonetheless.

In magazine news, got 19 submissions yesterday. I'm guessing volume will continue to be 2-3 times normal for another couple weeks.

In unrelated news, Mary Anne can finally talk about the project she's been working on for the past month, which involves a Classics professor in NYC. And she needs to know things about Classics professors and NYC. So if you know anything about Classics and/or NYC, go take a look at those two entries and drop her a note, 'kay?

In other unrelated news, happy birthday to John Ronald Reuel Tolkien! I noticed as I went to bed this morning that it was his birthday, but hadn't noticed until Mary Anne pointed it out that in fact it's his eleventy-first. I wonder what he would've thought of the movies, the Tolkien Language email list, the vast Tolkien-based wordwide publishing empire, and the Very Secret Diaries.

Enough unrelated news. Off I go to face the day.
