Jack

I gotta run off to work momentarily, but wanted to mention one thing: I read Connie Willis's story "Jack" back when it first came out, in Asimov's in 1991, and it didn't do much for me; probably because (a) I didn't recognize all of the obvious references to Dracula character names, and (b) I kept expecting it to be about Jack the Ripper, which it most definitely is not. But as part of reading her collection Impossible Things, I just re-read it, and it's a really really good story. And it gains a certain poignancy at the moment, as it's set in London during the Blitz. Highly recommended. Probably finds a place on my top-ten favorite Connie Willis stories list, though I'd have to actually make such a list to be certain of that.
