Shoes for Industry

I'm not sure what happened to my cassettes of Shoes for Industry! (the Best of the Firesign Theatre album). So now I face a difficult decision. I could buy:

  • The entire Shoes for Industry! album from Amazon, on CD, for $17.
  • The entire Firesign oeuvre from Amazon, on CDs, for about $100.
  • Thirteen selected tracks from Shoes for Industry! from the iTunes Music Store, for $1 apiece.
  • "The Further Adventures of Nick Danger," by far my favorite Firesign piece, a 28-minute tour de force that taught me everything I know (and then some!) about over-the-top fourth-wall-breaking radio comedy, from the iMS for $1.

There's certainly other Firesign stuff I like, but "Nick Danger" is the only piece I really love, and I could have it immediately for one lousy buck. Temptation strikes. But it would be nice to have the other stuff on the CD, and there's a lot of their stuff I've never heard from other albums. Decisions, decisions.

PS: Yes, I know I passed up several lovely opportunities in the above for Firesign-style puns and asides. Am in a rush.

PPS: Is Firesign Theatre the closest you can get to hypertext in an audio format, or am I just free-associating?

Ahem. Sorry about the outburst. My completely impartial advice is that you should buy the entire lot.

(And yes, FT is truly audio hypertext.)
