Mainline weaving operations

I know, I know, I have too much work to do to be sitting here journalling. But one last item for now, something I meant to post last night, an amusing phrase from the world of traffic management:

"Mainline weaving operations" refers to the competing movements of cars trying to enter and exit the freeway on the same stretch of roadway.

(Got that from a page about improvements they're making to a freeway interchange near my apartment.)

So next time some idiot cuts you off when they're trying to enter the freeway as you're trying to exit, or vice versa, you can mutter, "damn mainline weaving operations!"
