Avoidance behavior

Today I went and read a whole bunch of disclosure papers and reports regarding the house, and signed and/or initialed them. And then I took a check over to the mortgage broker for the appraisal fee. I seem to have reached the part of the process that involves writing a lot of checks.

In happier news, I received a CD in the mail today. Two of them, actually. It was quite some time ago that I first learned that John Massari's soundtrack CD for The Wizard of Speed and Time was available for purchase; I meant to order it as soon as I found out, but I have a hard time getting around to writing and mailing checks sometimes. (Luckily, I'm not responsible for sending checks to SH contributors.) So it went on the back burner (the project of mailing the check, not the CD; that would be silly), and I forgot about it, as is my wont. Only last week I remembered about it, and did a quick Google, and found abovepointedto web page, and emailed Massari to ask if the info there was still current, and he immediately wrote back and said it was, so I mailed him a $20 check. And The Wizard of Speed and Time: The Lost Soundtrack arrived in my mailbox today, along with Massari's sampler CD Short Cuts, which he gives away free for the asking (and most or all of the music on the sampler is available for free download from his website).

I hadn't realized that a lot of the music from WoSaT was actually written by Jittlov rather than Massari. Nonetheless, I am pleased. Catchy bouncy happy music, and it's all on my iPod now. I haven't put the sampler CD on my iPod yet; I'll probably listen to the whole CD straight through and just grab whichever bits of it I like best, 'cause there are a lot of brief little clips that may not work so well as standalone pieces.

Anyway, all that pleases me. What doesn't please me is that even though there was a lot of time in my day that didn't involve house stuff and music, I had a very hard time focusing on work, and I really need to focus on work, as I have a deadline impending.

So I'll be working tonight. But first, a quick trip to the grocery store, I think.
