Under 90
Taking a break from work, I noticed that for the first time in a very long time, we have fewer than 90 submissions awaiting responses. That number is usually between 140 and 200 at any given time, and got as high as 250 earlier this year, so at the moment we're doing unusually well at keeping on top of submissions. I'm particularly pleased that almost all of those 90 came in during the past two weeks; given the way our process works, two weeks' worth of unresponded-to stories is close to the minimum possible number. (Under most circumstances, our minimum possible response time is about 12 days, and that's pretty rare.)
Okay, back to documentation-writing go I. (I tried to tell them that Mary Anne's Birthday should be a holiday, but they told me I should've thought of that before I got behind on my deadline.)
