Signing my life away

Spent the late morning over at the title company, signing page after page of official documents which amount to me promising to pay a large amount of money to the bank over the next thirty years. Also me promising to take good care of their collateral, which is to say the property.

Still no closing date set. Probably sometime in the next week. But I think all that remains to be done (after the court agrees to the sale, which should theoretically happen sometime in the next few days) is for the sellers to sign some papers and hand over the keys.

Sometime in the next couple days, I hope to go over and look at the place and make a long list of all the work I want to have done on it before I move in. Then I'll call people to set that up—the realtor recommended some good workers—and with luck they'll be all done by the time I get back from the east-coast trip.

    Congrats!

Boy, they do want a lot of papers signed, don’t they? By the end of it you’re just turning out an indecipheral scrawl.

Congrats on making it through another hoop, Jed! I guess it’s too early to ask about the housewarming party… 😉
