Alex G. showed me how to hook up to his cable modem, so (for the moment) I have Net again! Very pleased. Have now sent duplicate copies of all the autoresponses for submissions that've gone out over the past few days, and am working on sending duplicates of other mail.
Unrelatedly, a cute item I heard on NPR the other day (first half of quote may be slightly paraphrased), regarding recent news about New York Stock Exchange Chairman Richard A. Grasso:
They were talking about the same thing everyone was talking about: the size of Dick Grasso's pay-package.
I can't decide whether the phrasing was intentional or not.
