Per aspera

A few days ago, I noticed that a previously bare-branched tree in my back yard had sprouted a few tiny pink blossoms.

The night before last, we had windstorms; winds up to 45 mph in some areas, I hear. When I got home that night, well after dark, I looked out my bedroom window to see if the various trees out back were okay, but it was too dark to tell. And yesterday there was rain, and last night there was thunder and lightning, albeit about four miles away.

This morning I opened my window blinds and looked out, and the tree is covered with little pink flowers.

Who knew that nature went in for such heavy-handed metaphors?

Still, it was nice to see.

Your post gives me serious hope here in more ways than one. 🙂

I’ve planted a weeping cherry tree in the back yard in January, and it has shown no signs of life… but today, I think there just might be something — a slight puffing of buds? Oh, let it be so, from your tree to mine!
