Wedding
Tim and Heather had a lovely wedding on Saturday. (You can also read other people's accounts: Tim's, including his vows; Heather's, including her vows; Susan's, including photos by Matt.)
I gave Karen a ride; despite my plan to leave the house earlier than necessary, I didn't get us to the wedding until about fifteen minutes late. Fortunately for us, the ceremony hadn't quite started yet when we got there, so that worked out okay.
Everyone was resplendent and lovely in their finery. (Or perhaps, in some cases, other people's finery. I wasn't gonna go around asking whose finery was whose.) The ceremony took place outdoors, among the trees. Vows were made, poems were read, rings were exchanged; yay! After the ceremony, there was good food, good company, and good music. Got to talk with various folks I hadn't seen in too long, though sadly didn't get to talk with everyone I wanted to talk with.
I took a bunch of photos, but I suspect many of them didn't come out so well; the lighting was such that when I used a flash, everything looked too bright, and when I didn't, everything looked too dim. But I imagine the real photographers there got plenty of good photos.
There are a variety of reasons that I'm glad I went; foremost among those was that I was glad to be there as a witness and friend, as part of the community supporting the marriage.
Yay for Heather & Tim!
