Probably a mistake
I'm now thinkin' that staying at work past midnight, not having had anything to eat since lunch at around 2 p.m., was probably a mistake.
Oh, well, at least it was a fairly productive evening.
More where that came from. I can probably meet my Monday morning deadline by working for most of the weekend. We'll see.
But tomorrow night (or maybe Sunday?) I'm taking some time off to go to a concert. At least, I think I am.
Oh, I should mention that my car was ready by 6 p.m. yesterday. I walked over to pick it up, and talked briefly with the owner of the place, who was much more reassuring than the other mechanic had been. The owner had a couple of theories about what the problem had been (and if I were clever I'd have written down what those theories were); said it might have been fixed by the tuneup they did, but if not, it would take an expensive part that they'd have to order. So he recommended waiting to see if it happened again before doing anything further. I suppose that's reasonable, though it does leave me still wondering if my engine's gonna die on the freeway.
