Everyone else my age remembers Schoolhouse Rock. But when I was a kid, we weren't allowed to watch anything but PBS (and we later got rid of the TV entirely), so what I remember is Sesame Street, Zoom ("oh, two one, three four!"), and The Electric Company. I had forgotten almost all about this show, but something on a mailing list today inadvertantly sparked some memories, and I did some poking around on the web 'til I came up with that page. I don't remember all the items mentioned, but a fair number of them. The Short Circus! Fargo North, Decoder! And, most especially for impressioning impressionable young Jeds: Letterman! ("Faster than a rolling O! More powerful than silent E! Able to leap capital T in a single bound! It's a word! It's a plan! It's Letterman!")
And I had absolutely no idea 'til now that Morgan Freeman played Easy Reader. My only clear memory of that character was a picture book that had a little picture of him on one corner of the cover, with the words "Easy Reader says: This book is easy to read!"
(I did enjoy Schoolhouse Rock when I finally saw it a few years back, btw, especially "Rufus Xavier Sarsasparilla.")
