I’ve been sittin’ at the keyboard
Drove Kam to the airport this morning. Came home, did some SH reading. Haven't really had enough sleep in a couple weeks; when I couldn't keep my eyes open after finishing a submission this afternoon, went and took a nap for what turned out to be a couple of hours. Had a very hard time dragging my eyes open after the nap, but figured I'd never get to sleep tonight if I didn't get up.
Spent the rest of the afternoon and evening reading submissions and doing database stuff. (And checking email and websites, of course.) Basically, except for the nap and lunch and dinner, I haven't budged from this chair all day. Good thing it's vaguely ergonomic.
Have now read all the subs I was supposed to have read a week ago. Plan for tomorrow: get caught up to where I'm supposed to be now.
During the times when I'm doing things other than reading subs, I've been listening to music. Recently bought CDs of a dozen albums I'd previously had only on tape (and half of those were tapes of LPs), so now have a bunch of stuff on my computer that I haven't listened to in a long time. (I used to listen to cassettes while driving, mostly, but my car stereo's been broken for well over a year, so I haven't listened to most of my cassettes during that time.) Suzanne Vega's first two albums; the Chenille Sisters' first album; Steeleye Span's Back in Line; Evita; Kate Bush's The Whole Story; the Bobs' Songs for Tomorrow Morning; and so on. Most of these were staples of my college days; a couple go back to high school. Am pleased. I have over 4000 songs in iTunes now (11GB of music), though that's misleading since 1200 of those (1.5GB) are from the Rise Up Singing discs.
