Wooden Rocket
One more thing before I go to bed: the Wooden Rocket Awards deadline is almost upon us. They're awards for websites, sponsored by a European sf-related site, voted on by anyone who signs up to vote. Except that your vote only counts if you've received two issues of their email newsletter thingy before the June 2nd deadline, which means that if you didn't sign up for it over a month ago, you can't vote. Clearly I should've mentioned this a month ago. Ah, well.
So consider this a reminder: if by some chance you did (like me) sign up for the newsletter but haven't yet voted, better get your votes in soon; the polling ends this coming Monday (presumably UK time).
Please don't attempt to cheat or otherwise circumvent their various security features; but if you feel like voting (a single time) for SH (and if you signed up for their newsletter long enough ago), please do. For that matter, if you'd rather vote for some other site, please do that; the more people who vote, the more valid the results. Either way, be sure to read their rules and their category descriptions before you vote.
As of a couple months ago, we were apparently doing fairly well in early voting; their status update from March said:
The widest choice of entries have been seen in the online-only mag category, with the vote being split so that a head-and-shoulders winner has yet to emerge.
Some of the names in the lead at the moment include old favorites such as aphelion-webzine.com, SFlare.com, SciFidimensions.com, StrangeHorizons.com, 2000adonline.com and InfinityPlus.co.uk.
