Workshops

Mary Anne has posted info about this year's Strange Horizons writing workshops. They're both one-weekend intermediate-level workshops; one in Oregon in late August (just before WorldCon); one in New Jersey in late September.

Jay Lake will be a guest editor at the Oregon one; Gavin Grant and Kelly Link will be guest editors at the New Jersey one.

Dunno yet whether Susan and/or I will be at either of them.

Cost is $100/person, but that includes meals and a place to sleep (though it might be on the floor).

I think you and Susan should go to the Oregon workshop. Nay, I insist!! 🙂

I second Jenn’s insistence! So what if Susan gets back from the East Coast the week before and TorCon is the week after? We demand SH fiction editors!

Yeah, us POLYPHONY fiction editors are just chopped liver compared to you and Susan, Jed.

Gee, Jay, I didn’t mean to slight you, only to shame Jed and Susan! I’m totally psyched to get to meet you and work with you at the SH workshop! It was one of my deciding factors!

I’ve had two pro sales and, if I can get Jed and/or Susan to come to this workshop, an editor from both publications will be at this workshop. How cool would that be? Very damn cool. Especially considering they’re two of my favorite publications to READ, even before I sold to either of them.

I haven’t even met you yet, Jay, so you’re also required to attend. 😉 But the more the merrier, yes? Especially when more means Jed and/or Susan. 🙂

I have met you, Jay, and yet I’m still looking forward to seeing you.

Me, I just like to — oh, wait, that’s not right.

    Flashback, sorry. 🙂

And now my day is bright and sunshiny. Heather, we met for like 30 seconds at ConJose, though you may not recall it. Obviously I made a bigger impression on Greg.

I’m really looking forward to this.

Are there spaces left open in this workshop?

As far as I know, there are indeed still spaces open in the workshops. Contact Mary Anne if you need more info.
