Dream

I'm falling asleep at the keyboard; time for bed. But starting to fall asleep reminded me that I had an odd test anxiety dream last night:

I was taking a test, but unlike the usual dream test, this was an essay question on a topic that I knew plenty about. And I had lots of notes, and plenty to say. But I couldn't seem to organize my thoughts or my words in a coherent way. I finally began trying to take notes, jotting down ideas and phrases, and was making a certain amount of progress but I had already used up half the allotted time and I didn't think I was going to finish in time.

And then I woke up.

I don't know what that one was all about. I still prefer The Last Test Anxiety Dream.

I used to have a recurring dream similar to your Last Test Anxiety Dream. In it, I wouldn’t remember that I had enrolled in a particular class until it was time for a major test, and I would get so anxiety-ridden over the test that I’d wake up.

Nowadays, with college so far behind me, the dream has changed: In the current version, I accept a copyediting project and then forget I had taken it until the day before it’s due, when there is no way I can make the deadline. 😛
