Quick clarification

Once again my asides have made my point confusing. I should've just said: I gather that in parts of the East Coast, even some parts not particularly close to NYC, the phrase "The City" refers to NYC.

The bit about the Bay Area was meant to indicate that I had just used the phrase "the Bay Area" without thinking about the fact that there are other places that are called that, notably the area around Boston. (I think there's another one down in North Carolina or somewhere, but I'm not sure.) Didn't mean to suggest that NYC was called "the Bay Area," but it sure did come out sounding that way, didn't it?

Perhaps I oughtta implement footnotes in this journal, to provide a better way of portraying non-linear thought processes. Or maybe I oughtta just provide more context in my asides.
