My grandfather turns 90 next weekend. Should I fly up to Seattle for the party?
On the one hand, I've got another deadline the following day, and I won't have had much rest in a while, and I really disliked my most recent air-travel experience.
On the other hand: 90! Surely that's more important than work. It'll only be a small party, but still. 90! (My grandmother turned 94 six weeks ago, one of a string of birthdays this year which I've failed to even acknowledge. Sigh.) And it would be nice to see various Seattle friends, too, assuming they'd have time to see me on such short notice.
Won't decide tonight. Must get back to work. Chance of my actually making the impending Monday-morning deadline diminishing steadily.
