Faith in humanity restored
Got a nice call from the plumber this morning regarding my shower having reverted to its temperature-fluctuating ways; he was friendly and helpful, and said he'd find a way to squeeze in a visit even though his schedule is tight this week. I said it wasn't urgent, and he said he would treat it as urgent to make sure it got done. And then he volunteered to leave me a note if I'm not here when he visits, so that I'll know he was here and can contact him directly instead of going through the apt-management company. It was a welcome contrast to my recent interactions with bureaucracy and service people, and cheered me up immensely.
Don't really have any other news to report. Susan and I are running a bit slow on everything magazine-related; Susan's on the road, and I've been distracted by a lot of enjoyable social stuff and by sleep issues. What with WisCon impending, and continuing to look at candidates for the third editor position, we'll probably continue to be a bit slow for another week or two.
Off to do some reading.
