Fantagraphics in financial trouble
Saw this on boingboing the other day: Fantagraphics, publisher of many fine comic books, is facing severe financial problems, and is therefore asking people to buy stuff from them. So if you've ever considered buying the works of Jessica Abel, Peter Bagge, Dan Clowes, R. Crumb, Roberta Gregory, Bill Griffith, Los Bros Hernandez, Richard Sala, or other Fantagraphics stalwarts, or any of their classic reprints (such as the complete-Pogo series, which is up to vol. 11) now might be a good time to do so. For that matter, if you've been wanting something from Fantagraphics but aren't up for buying it at the moment, you could let the sort of people who might be likely to buy you presents know about it.
Looks like you can order online if you're so inclined.
I think the publishers are known for being kinda contentious and sometimes obnoxious, but they sure have published some good stuff over the years.
