- At the party tonight, two older gentlemen were playing and singing "The Union Maid," or at least the chorus: "Oh, you can't scare me, I'm sticking to the union, I'm sticking to the union 'til the day I die." Made me want to go ask them to tell union stories, but I was immersed in conversation and they were having too good a time to interrupt anyway.
- On the way home, I tuned in to Wait Wait ... Don't Tell Me! on NPR. I intended to only listen for a minute and then switch to iPod tunes, but the first guy who called in was named Jedediah, and the host and the guests kept saying the name over and over and talking about what a great name it was, and how much fun it was to say, so I kinda had to keep listening. The host said it was too bad he'd already named his second daughter, or he'd name her Jedediah just so he could say the name a lot. I was amused.
- It's Sunday the 17th now. Today would've been my mother's 60th birthday.
