Happy house dance

Escrow has closed. The deed has been recorded in my name. It's official: I own a townhouse!

I'm very pleased.

Next steps: get utilities turned on; go over and pick up the key; hire people to come in and do a bunch of work on the place.

Come and listen to my story about a man named Jed
Worked so hard to put a roof above his head
Out one day recording a townhouse deed
He realized the parking lot wouldn’t be so noisy

    Congrats!

Hooray, Jed!! Add to the list having a housewarming party. You can always use more dishtowels and potholders, right?

    Congratulations!

Remember, Home Depot is a homeowner’s best friend.

    Congrats, Jed! Total coolness!

And Trey is completely right, by the way. And I’m not just saying that because my wife works for Home Depot.

Thanks, all! As for when I move in, that’s unclear as yet; I have no idea at all of how long the work that needs to be done will take, and I’d rather get it all done before I move in. I’m hoping that it’ll be completed by the time I get back from the impending east-coast trip, and that I’ll be all moved by mid-October, but we’ll see. Housewarming party (good point, Sarah!) probably mid-Novemberish, I think, so people going to WFC will be back. We’ll see.

Another item for the list: giving notice at my apartment. I’ll probably do that in about two weeks, to make sure I have plenty of time to move when I get back. …The car and motorcycle have been particularly loud the past couple days; it’ll be a relief to get out of here. With luck, I won’t be in the apartment for more than 20 more weekday mornings.

Glad to hear that the strange and silly fees issue couldn’t stand in your way for long.

    Woooo! Fantastic news, Jed.

Now, if you could just plan your housewarming party to coincide with Heather and Tim’s, we’ll be in business. 🙂

If you need any Belgian lace table clothes, let me know. (I could mention chocolate or beer, but that’s just too obvious)… CONGRATS!
