Markety stuff

A couple of times lately, I've mentioned Scott Reilly's The Write Hemisphere in passing, and people have said, "Whuzzat?"

So let me point out that this speculative-fiction newsblog has rapidly become the place to go for market news, pointers to new material posted in various publications, pointers to interesting online discussions, reminders of upcoming deadlines, information on award nominees and winners, and so on. I'm certainly not dissing Locus Online, which performs some similar functions; but Write Hemisphere is sleek and fast; it loads quickly, it's pleasant to the eye, and it's very timely. Add it to your bookmarks list! Send news and info and pointers to Scott!

The latest item posted there deserves attention of its own, though I suspect that most of y'all regular readers who would care about this already know about it: David M. and Jay L. are co-editing a new retro-pulp anthology titled All-Star Zeppelin Adventure Stories, to be published next year by Wheatland Press. (Somehow I keep wanting to add an exclamation mark to the end of that title.) They'll be paying 5 cents/word for up to 8000 words. Time to break out the old Justice, Inc. game notes. Everything goes better with zeppelins!

Mighty kind words, Jed! Thanks! You’ve been a great supporter of The Write Hemisphere, in terms of spreading the word and sending in news, and I appreciate it.

And everyone, yes, do send in news! I have only so many eyes and ears and hours in the day.
